Rehab Insight Exercise Physiology

Clinical scope

Conditions we treat

Grouped by who is referring and what they are trying to solve. If you are not sure whether exercise physiology is indicated, call us. A two minute conversation beats a referral that is not the right fit.

Injured workers, WorkCover and CTP

  • Back and neck injury
  • Disc injury and sciatica
  • Shoulder injury
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation
  • Knee and hip injury
  • Repetitive strain and overuse
  • Whiplash and soft tissue injury
  • Chronic and persistent pain
  • Deconditioning after time off work
  • Fear avoidance and graded exposure

We work to occupational goals, not gym goals. Programs are built against the actual demands of the job, and reporting is written so it answers the capacity questions on the file.

Veterans, DVA

  • Chronic pain
  • Service-related musculoskeletal injury
  • PTSD, anxiety and depression
  • Sleep difficulty
  • Cardiovascular and metabolic conditions
  • Deconditioning and loss of independence

Gold and white card holders have no session cap and do not need a chronic disease management plan. Veterans train in a normal gym at Chermside, often alongside other veterans, rather than in a clinical setting.

Psychological injury and mental health

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • PTSD
  • Psychological injury arising from a physical claim
  • Pain-related distress
  • Sleep, fatigue and low energy
  • Driving anxiety after an accident

Trauma-informed practice, with psychological safety and client control built into how programs are prescribed rather than added afterwards.

NDIS participants

  • Stroke
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Parkinson's disease
  • Acquired brain injury
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Chronic pain and fatigue
  • Balance and falls risk
  • Capacity building for independence

GP and specialist referrals

  • Type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Osteoporosis
  • Weight management
  • Cancer-related fatigue
  • Chronic respiratory conditions
